THE Q'ERO NATION

Elder Juan Gabriel Apaza Lonasco and his daughter Idwarda will be blessing us with their humble presence to share ceremony, teachings, & coca readings.

The Q’ero are recognized as the last living descendants of the Inka bloodline- a nation deeply revered all around Peru for maintaining the spiritual and artistic traditions of their ancestors. Around 2,000 people still live up in the distant village at 15,000 feet above sea level. Nowadays, many Q’ero have moved their families down the mountain into the cities to experience the opportunities of modernity. Many circumstances arise in the city which challenge this vibrant culture to pass its heritage into future generations. Yet, similar to Tibet, it is through challenge and hardship that the gems of this spiritual lineage has been able to spread its wings across the world for the benefit of all.

The Q’ero are known as the keepers of the Coca tradition. Through despacho ceremonies, meditative weaving, and deep connection to the healing properties of this sacred plant- these traditions serve as a powerful catalyst for healing. Through intensive life-long training, wisdom-keepers can help to heal people by removing blockages and aligning you with the spirit of Nature to support your highest life aspirations.

Through our intimate relationship with our Q'ero family, Reviveolution is dedicated to support these traditions to thrive in the modern world.

PERMACULTURE

The permaculture portion of this month long retreat will be a bi-lingual (English and Spanish) two-Week intensive Permaculture Design Course (PDC). This is an opportunity to study with internationally renowned permaculture teacher Penny Livingston-Stark to help design the Reviveolution Eco-Sanctuary from scratch- as we just became stewards of a bare piece of farming land with infinite potential. The course will be enriched with special guests including local indigenous farmers and native Peruvian families who will share with us their own permanent agriculture techniques. Proceeds from this course both sponsor local farmers to attend, as well as go back into local projects that promote ecological & cultural sustainability.

This training provides multiple ways of presenting information from presentation and slide shows to storytelling and interactive group process. This course include hands-on experiential learning opportunities provided by experienced instructors.

A globally recognized Permaculture Design Certificate, will be offered to all participants who complete the course and the design project.

THE LOCATION

We are delighted to be staying just down the road from the land we will be designing during your course at Casita Huaran. This is a beautiful property and guest-home owned by a local Peruvian family dedicated to sustainable land stewardship, surrounded by cascading mountains and flowing water. There is plenty of shaded area for camping, and many options of cozy rooms which may be single rooms with private baths, double rooms with private baths, or double & triple rooms with shared baths. What a beautiful place to soak in the spectacular Andes and learn about permaculture and indigenous ceremony.

THE FOOD

We are 100% committed to organic, in-season, healthy food that nourishes the body and nurtures the soul. We use only cold-pressed Peruvian coconut oil,  Andean pink salt, and high-grade ingredients to cleanse and regenerate your body into health.
